About Miguel Perez

Miguel Perez spent the early years of his career at an Am Law 100 firm, one of the largest firms in the country, representing Fortune 500 companies in litigation and transactions. He brought that training home to Fort Lauderdale to do the work he actually cares about which is helping South Florida families protect what they’ve built, settle the estates of the people they’ve lost, and close on the homes they’re buying. Since founding Good Shepherd Legal in 2024, he has helped more than 300 clients do exactly that.

His practice covers the full arc of a family’s legal life: wills and revocable trusts, powers of attorney and healthcare directives, Medicaid asset protection planning, probate and trust administration after a death, and residential and commercial closings. He also does real estate transactions, assisting clients buying or selling property where clients get the attorney and the title agency under one roof.

Miguel works on flat fees, explains everything in plain English, and meets clients in English or Spanish, whichever they prefer. The big-firm background matters to his clients for one reason: the same rigor that Fortune 500 companies pay for is applied to a family’s trust, a parent’s probate, or a first home.

His path to the law started with his grandfather, an attorney in Colombia who spent his career helping families in small villages navigate the courts and protect their land. That is still the job as Miguel sees it: a family, a problem that feels bigger than it is, and someone in their corner who can explain the next step.

His faith is the foundation of how he practices, and it shows up as honesty about what you need and what you don’t. Outside the office he trains hard, believing physical discipline sharpens the mental kind.
